Meet Norhan

I'm Norhan Youssef, the founder, and CEO of Alpha Nisa. I help Muslim women in Engineering fields excel in their career while keeping their Islamic identity and values.

I have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from McMaster University as well as my P.ENG (Ontario) & PMP certifications. For the past 10+ years I have held several engineering roles from being an individual contributor to leading a team of experienced engineers.

Being a Muslim woman engineer has its challenges. I know how it feels when you want to grow and move up in your career then find yourself questioning the possibility of that happening without losing some of your Islamic values. You see opportunities around you and feel you must work harder than everyone else to prove you are the right candidate while your peers do not need to put as much effort. Managers treat you differently just because you look different!

I have faced all of this and learned a lot through my career on how to navigate through these challenges, beat all the odds and achieve my career goals while maintaining my Islamic identity.
